Dirty streak

after drying the car when washed there is a dirty streak that forms running down from the rear window rubber all the way down the paintwork. It's annoying. Any ideas how I can stop it as I don't want to have to lever up the rubber to get a towel under it.

Are you talking about the scraper rubber that goes top of door bottom of the glass ?? 

 

If so APC and a toothbrush you probably have some algae/grit  in the felt 

 

My old golf used to suffer chronic (previous owner left it stood under a tree)

Sorry didn't explain very well. It's the fixed window (estate) behind the rear side window.

Can you get in there with a toothbrush and APC ??

Or at least squirt some APC on the glass and let it run down 

 

If it's algae like.muck than Milton can work (worked on the golf convertible roof )
