Emissions

Featured Replies

Today (12/06/2017) I have received the letter from Skoda and DVLA regarding the updates on the emissions EA 189 NOx problems

It states on the letter "you will be reassured to hear that indipendant testing authorities have confirmed that there will be negative impact on engine performance, maximium torque, fuel consumption, noise and CO2 emissions as a result of having this update applied"

I have heard this is not always the case

Is this a legal requirement that it has to be done?

It never came from the DVLA (DVSA),  just they gave the contact details to VW.  Just DVLA on the letter / envelope.

No need to have 'The Fix' and if there ever is it will require a change in the UK's law, and will apply to many vehicles other than diesels.

Thank you I have read online it is not legal requirement and so many stories of VWs having huge problems after the fix

I don't think I will bother bearing in mind it has passed 2 MOTs with no emission problems

The assurances on independent testing is no guarantee since real world on the road people are having failures and testers are finding otherwise to the VW claim.

So time will tell, because VW have been claiming 50% of affected vehicles in the UK done, and only 1% reported issues and other rubbish,

and the VW CEO UK said 20,000 a week were getting done earlier this year,

VW must be getting there or Diane Abbott MP is in charge of accounting at the DVLA / DVSA / VW UK.

As before I would be the only person ever Skoda have had that problem with and again considering passing 2 MOT's I won't bother
