How many Keys from a 16 plate Rapid SE?

Featured Replies

Just a quick question, picking up the wife's "new to us" car in the morning. How many keys should be with it? Anything else I should check is not missing?

Should be 2 keys, Check the handbook is there (service records are stored electronically). Check that the locking wheel nut socket is in the boot and it fits.

Thanks

As above, two keys, both should be remote central locking fob keys rather than just basic keys.

You guys saved me a trip. I asked about locking wheel nuts, they didn't match the bolt key in the box. So the whole set had to be replaced before we collected the car. Salesman said we could keep the old set, quite what use they would be is beyond me.

Oh how generous of him - not.

Chances are that your boot pack was lifted from another car, so also worth checking that everything is there and that there are no empty spaces in the polystyrene. Did you get a spare wheel and tools, or just an air compressor and a can of gunk?

spare wheel and tool kit. The only optional extra on the car from the factory.

Ok, here's what should be in the polystyrene insert:

Jack

Wheel brace

Screwdriver Allen key

Front towing eye

Wheel bolt cover removal tool (looks like plastic tweezers)

Locking wheel nut

Grey fabric retaining strap (holds the tool set in place in the wheel rim)

The rest of the voids in the polystyrene are for optional extras - a genuine ŠKODA spare bulb kit and for a removeable rear towing arm.
