First post for me: hi everyone!

 

Dad has just bought an 2008 Octavia 1.9TDi estate, the L&K model. 

Display units on the MFD are set to metric for temperature (e.g. outside temp is in degrees C) but the aircon/climate control displays on centre console are stubbornly imperial (60 degrees F for coldest etc). I can't see any way of changing the climate control settings from imperial to metric in the manual. Minor problem but faintly irritating!

 

Does anyone have any advice? Other than get over it? ;-)

Have you tried pressing the auto and econ buttons together? I know the mk 1 octavias and golf 4's can be swapped between degrees C and degrees F like this

My 2007 L&K shows the temp in Centigrade with lowest normal setting being 16 degrees ... Not sure if it's changeable via the Maxidot  

The auto/econ button combo doesn't seem to have worked... worth a try though :-)

 

Any other ideas?

Just as long term follow up - despite dad searing blind he was doing it right, when I was over last and did it myself it magically worked ;-)

 

So the Auto/Econ press was indeed the answer - thanks dilksie
