Featured Replies

Just collected my Fabia 1.4 :)

Im planning on moving to 16" Alloys what does it handle like compared to the existing tiny tyres!!

How the heck do you remover the gear knob (couldnt find a solution on here but that may just be me!)

And .... how do you change the door pins on a non central locking fabia!!

Cheers

Andy,

If you're thinking of changing the gear knob you may be in for a (bad) surprise - i don't think the fabia has a standard fitting...

16" wheels should be fine though - quite a few other fab owners on here are running 17"s. Still got stock 14s on mine though...

edit: Welcome to the site, BTW!

1.4 8v or 16v?

i never had too many complaints with the standard handling i think matt (fabia TDI) or jason (devonutopia) might have an opinion about upgrading the wheels and tyres

no ideas i am afraid about the gear knob or door pins.

Usually the gear knobs are secured underneath the gaiter with a ring clip.

You need to lift the gaiter up over the top of the knob and remove the clip. Then take the knob off with the gaiter and seperate.

as techie said about the gear knob the door locking pins are bonded to the metal rod that goes to the door lock so not a very easy job.
