Well, after much deliberation I've placed an order for an Octavia vRS 245 DSG which will be with me in September.  

 

I've had so much fun with my little furby vRS in the 5 years I've owned it- I learned loads about driving/cars and what they are capable of and made some good friends along the way.  It was time for a newer, safer, more powerful vehicle with hopefully less potential for fragility.  That's not to say mine had any problems- yes it was a moderate Oil user, but when treat right it didn't let me down.  

I will always remember the meet up we had a few years ago at Santa Pod- that was a good day!

 

These are awesome cars- fast, fun and they bring a big smile to your face, especially when the super/turbo chargers and DSG do their thing.  Get one of the 'good ones' and you won't regret it.  I just hope the next owner treats it as well as I did! 

 

I have some advise of any new owners of one of these cars: 

Drive it hard occasionally (and when the law allows it! Just don't potter about at 30mph all the time- they do not like this)

Service it well (at least once a year.  Change the plugs at the same time- You will feel the difference)

Be nice to it. (take some time to give it a polish and wax.  Don't let the inside become a litter bin or the outside an eyesore)

 

I will probably be selling the extra bits I've acquired later on, so keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section soon  

 

I will still be popping into the fabia II section to give help where I can.

That will be a nice upgrade, have driven a few 220bhp Octavia's thanks to work and they are a better all round package. Not 100% on the facelift yet, think they might be a bit color dependent but looks like skoda have done a good job improving the interior.

I wasn't at first, but it has grown on me especially in black. I test drove a manual 230 and it was just incredible. The way it gathered speed is quite a shock compared to the Fabia!
