B126301 - Tank lid unlock activation

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if this fault code concerns anything...it doesn't through any light up on the dash but keep coming back after deleting. I have visually inspected the fuel tank lid but didn't see any fault in there.

Expert advice needed please. Thank you.

Did you check if your tank is locked when the car is locked?

I've just checked it now and can confirm that it locks when the car is locked and unlocks when the car is unlocked.

That's good then.

I am no expert but the VW group had some serious problems in recent years with faulty door lock/unlock control modules. I'm not saying this is one of those issues but it sounds like something only an expert can sort out for you.

I see this on mine, even after clearing the error. I had intermittent issues with the fuel flap lid sticking shut in the winter period. Took it to my dealer who "couldn't find any issue" but it's never done it since, but fault still logged occasionally. I'd say don't worry about it unless you see your fuel flap sticking shut/locked when the car is unlocked.

I can not see any problem for locking unlocking of the flap lid of the fuel tank but code keeps coming back..well, i'll ignore the error but has anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it?

This has just been thrown up on ocdeleven and it would seem that the fuel cap doesn't lock, does anyone know the repair for this

Did you find a fix for this, mine is exactly the same

I suspect this will require the replacement of the solenoid 'throw' which activates the locking pin.

First port of call, examine the flap and the the surround to the locking pin.  I have seen the rubber surround disintergrate preventing the locking pin from being thrown.  Failing that, it will be a new solenoid.

To replace it, it involves taking out the boot liner on the RHS.  Its not an easy fix.

Did anyone attempt this? I've had the same error code thrown at me and have also discovered that the fuel door doesn't lock when the car is locked.

Is the repair as big a PITA as @varaderoguysuggests?

Thanks @ords. I'll check the actuator/solenoid out today.
