hi, changed my gearbox yesterday cause the diff bearings was defective

i read somewhere that i cant trust the oil filling hole for oil Level cause the gearbox is tilted forward making the Level lower than its supposed to be

is this true for my gearbox?

 

its an alh engine With a egr transmission

dont want to blow my seals by adding to much and braking my New gearbox by not having enough oil in it

@asle1111 According to Wikipedia, "EGR" is an engine code.

have done some more googleing i believe its a 02j transmission, its marked egr on the top of the transmission wich means the drive ratio i think?

 

@asle1111 - There is such a thing as an O2J manual transmission; there are strip and overhaul and oil refill/top-up guides on the internet that contain more detail than I can type.

If you have a mkI, no it doesn't as yours is based on a mkiv golf.
