Strut Tops

Featured Replies

I've always noticed some camber on my fronts when spring have been fitted.

Noticed this today too.

Is this normal?

I had some new top mounts fitted but I don't think there is any difference per model or what hand they go is there?

They look a lot more prominent then my Greenline struts... That don't mean much though. I have electronic gibbons on the top of the offside one, making it less noticeable anyway. At least they b both look even so I am sure its ok.

Completely fine mate :)

I'm hoping the Powerflex this week straighten them up a bit!

Still baffles the hell out of me

Im going to get the shorter ARB links on too as I know one of mine has had it

I put a picture of the Mondeo ones beside standard on my project thread, perfect for lowering springs.

Yeah that's what I was going to go for.

Are they like 02 onwards Mondeo ones?

Old shape ones, 1999 year

I should be ashamed for the lack of detailing.........

Ah yeah.

It it was more the angle of mine compared to yours George that baffles me.

For a while a few years back there was chat on here about people using Polo strut tops.

The details of that, point of it etc has slipped my mind but maybe someone can comment on what it was all about.

Angle depends on where the front wheels are pointing and the level of the ground.

Go full lock one way and check then go full lock the other and check again.

There like that all the time.

On even flat ground, and it obvious from the outside too, you can see the camber.

The top mount holds it centre and the bearing in the centre of that.

so one of those might not be seated correctly if it's at a constant angle
