Hi Guys,

 

I have faulty rear parking sensors on my Lemon Yellow RS mk1 that went wrong last week. The speaker comes on in reverse but gives just one long beep and that's it, regardless if I am close to an object or not and then switches off. The sensors on this are dealer fit DIY as in bumper strip and wire crimped into reverse light wire. The same skoda has a Dealer fit DIY sunroof with white headlining. I herd that's RARE, sunroof in white headlining. The sunroof controls are 5 buttons not a turn dial if anyone wanted to know or interested and the glass is same make as OEM Skoda Splintex.

 

I have two Lemon Yellow Skoda Octavia RS with rear parking sensors and sunroof, one OEM and one DIY dealer fitted.  The OEM one is a donor car that has a blown turbo and gearbox. The other RS is a fully modded stage 2 and way too much work to swap over all the bits. lol..

 

Anyway, first question, anyone had similar faults with dealer DIY sensors going wrong? I have tried cleaning them. I know I can pick up new cheap kits off ebay but would rather try and fix what I got first. Secondly if I cannot fix how easy is it to put OEM sensor/kit into my stage 2 RS? I have all parts from the donor car. Its pretty much stripped now as needed the electronic heater flap motors and other interior parts. I have read the speaker is in B pillar and that the sensor module is connected to vag-com, also reverse sensor connnected to gearbox. Am I correct? I am on a few VAG forums and skoda facebook groups but no one on the facebook groups can help me.

Very interesting, never seen this before.

Regarding reversing sensors, i recently bought a kit off fleabay (have yet to fit) for about only £20 and this gets its power from tapping into the reversing lights supply.

 

Simples

It sounds like a faulty sensor. If it is connected to Vag com it should give a fault code for the sensor that is faulty. I am going to fit factory parking sensors in mine and you can buy a loom from Kaufatec that will connect the control box to the fuse box and obd port. Hope that helps?
