Dash cam fitting in the boot.. excess wire loom

Featured Replies

Just wanting to ask how other people have wired the excess loom of wire that you have left with when fitting the Blackvue front and rear (or any other dashcam).

So probably not explained myself properly but basically I've fully fitted the cameras and hidden the wire from the from dashcam to the rear one but then I'm left with a fair amount of wire coiled in excess and wondered how other people had hidden theirs in the boot area.

Think you need to post a photo so we can see where you have mounted it. Also I assume yo have the hatch not the combi?

On my estate the dash cam and hardwire kit is all wired in with the boot lid, with a hole drilled in the plastic for the usb cable to come out. So any excess is hidden beneath the plastic trim.

On my Octavia Scout I tied the lead in a loop and stuffed it up above the headlining at the front - I was worried that if I left the coil at the rear, it would cause unwanted interference with the DAB - in the end, it didn't, but best to be safe.
