Strut replacement

Featured Replies

Hi I m new to this but I've hot a brick wall with this . Does the bolt that holds the bottom of the front strut screw in or is just a case of hammering it through, I'm in the process of fitting coilovers and I can't get this bolt out

As I recall it's only held by its nut so I would say corrosion is your problem.

Leave nut flush with end of bolt and belt it with a hammer and drift.

If you can simultaneously put torque on the bolt whilst hitting it from the nut side that will help as will a liberal dose of penetrating fluid.

if you have a blow torch handy to heat the bolt then spray with wd40 hammer a bit then quench it in water should be enough to crack it , spray some more 40 on and it should come off
