2017 Citigo SE L LCD Dashboard Display

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2017 Citigo with an LCD display within the speedo binnacle. (Displays total miles, gear, etc).

Problem is, I find the LCD display very difficult to read whilst driving because the characters are very small & very dim.

An LED display (as I've had on other cars) is much, much better!

Has anybody else experienced the same problem & can the brightness on the LCD display be increased?

thank you.

The display is way too small and dim,I find it hard to read even with glasses on.

Regarding the LCD display on Citigo!

It makes me wonder, who decides on these things at VW (or Skoda)?

Do these people who make these choices EVER try them out?

If they did, they'd quickly realise, the LCD Display is TOTALLY unsuitable.

Why don't they ask the car Buyers what they think?

Citigo LCD dashboard display.

Most people hate LCD displays, they always create reading issues.

The display fitted to the Citigo is not much bigger than those awful LCD watches that were sold in the 1970's/80's.

Joe Public soon 'kicked' against them & the watch manufacturers reverted back to Analogue Displays.

The LCD watches ended up being given away with 4 Gallons of Petrol by Oil Companies. ☺️☺️☺️

Come on VW/Skoda, you can do better than this!

Put a decent sized LED Display into your Cars.

This is the only saving grace for the PID in my book, it makes the Trip Computer easier to read than the LCD display which I can't read while driving, even with my glasses on!

I just don't understand why VW/Skoda have installed such an ineffective display in their Cars?

My Wife had a Fiat 500 previously which had a LED display, far, far easier to read.

I really like the PID - it has really made me monitor my driving as the average fuel consumption seems pretty accurate and I challenge myself to improve it every trip :)

My phone always connects through bluetooth so it gives me hands free and also I can play digital radio stations through the PID/radio from my phone.

You're lucky! My PID won't connect to my phone via BT and Skoda can't fix it. I have another BT solution so I'm not fussed but it means I slightly regret not waiting for an MY17 car. That said, the maxi dot colour trip computer is now on the options list for MY17 which goes some way to making an improvement.

If I'd realised about the awful LCD display in my Wife new Citigo, I would have gone for the 'computer' option.

looks as if the display is LED!!!

I'm a big fan of the VW multi-function displays/trip computers.

We had the Highline MFD on a Mk5 Golf Match and more recently a full-colour one on a SEAT Leon. The one on the Leon was incredibly useful, especially the digital speedometer.

The one we have now on the BMW F30 is disappointing in comparison to the Leon.

I have the full trip on the A4 and it's a real improvement on the one I had in my substantially more modern Volvo :)
