Cost of Map Controlled Thermostat

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Engine management light on and the VAG fault code reads F265 Map Controlled Thermostat open circuit. Checked with Skoda and a genuine replacement part is £120. As we say here in Yorkshire "Ow Much".

Are there any motor factors that sell genuine parts? I don't want a cheap pattern that will last five minutes. I'm guessing this is an MOT failure?

Not an MOT fail unless it throws the emissions right out. TPS do all of VAG's parts so slightly cheaper than from the dealer directly. However someof the aftermarket stuff is very good, just avoid the really cheap stuff.

Thanks for that Jux. I think the emissions will be ok as I'm getting about 45 mpg at the moment as my journey to work is a descent run,

assuming it's not a wireing fault
