VCDS fault log off car shows wrong time/year

Featured Replies

Hi All, I did a scan the other day and noticed VCDS said it was from 2011 and it happened last week ! so will VCDS update the cars logging clock ? the laptop clock is correct so it mustn't  use that as a reference. cheers Stuart

What car was this on?

Most of the non MQB (Octavia 3, Superb 3, Kodiaq) cars the dates VCDS shows are way out.

Thanks for the reply, I will have to work out how far behind it is and add it to the time and date VCDS comes up with, its just annoying that it shows a fault log from 6 years ago that you could delete, when it actually occurred in the last few days ! cheers Stuart

Is the time shown correctly on your infotainment and/or instruments in the car?

Sorry for the late reply, the standard display of clock time is correct in the centre dash if that helps. cheers Stuart
