TDI 130 BHP Cambelt Change Interval

Had my cambelt, water pump and auxiliary belt replaced in October 2013 at 80,000 miles, bit confused as to when it next need changing? car now has 123,000 miles on it.

Get it done now.

between your first cambelt and 2nd - 4 years and 40k miles are recommended (my book said 60k then 100k  or 4 years anyway).

 

Do your water pump and, if possible, the engine stretch bolts should be replaced whilst  it's being done on the drivers' side engine mount.

Specialist charged me about £450 to do it.

Yeah, 40,000 miles or 4 years, whatever is sooner. I got recommended to buy either the original parts or the Contitech kit (including the water pump etc.). You can buy through autodoc or similar. Then, for an additional small fee you get all new coolant, and can get the thermostat and temp sender changed all in one go. Don't forget to get a serpentine belt changed at the same time.
