Any VCDS owners close to Hereford available to do a throttle body adaption for me? Getting odd throttle pedal readings (starting at 4.7% rest, dropping to 0.6% with light pressure, then going back up to nearly 100% at full depression)

Thursday I'll be in Malvern - but only until 4pm or 6pm.

 

Also.. YMMV but try this?

 

Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and wait about 15 minutes or so. Reconnect the terminal and leave the bonnet open and drivers' door open. Insert key and turn to ACC and then you should start to hear the TB clicking as it tries to self align. Wait at least 3 minutes until you stop hearing the engine clicking and there is NO noise coming fom the compartment...pull key, shut bonnet, get in car shut drivers door start.

Ah, wouldn't be able to get there, don't finish work until 5, lol. Have heard of disconnecting the battery, pulling the ECU fuse and letting it relearn, even as far as remembering seeing some instructions on the interweb (damned if I can find them again though, lol) - as for leaving the door/bonnet etc open, that has been debunked as not real unfortunately, as the throttle body cycle every time you operate the key. Ideally it needs re syncing with the pedal, will give the battery trick a try first though I think, got to be worth a shot. Cheers for the offer though.

Do you work in Hereford?

 

I have a feeling that if we met half way for lunch it might be doable (it'd be 20-25  minutes for each of us and the VCDS work is a few minutes.

Issue is that I might be busy with work colleagues.

 

Good luck with the battery off though.

Wouldn't have time, only allowed 30 mins for lunch (slave drivers, lol) - cheers again though
