2001 Skoda Fabia 1.9tdi estate electrical faults

Featured Replies

Hi all, Currently driving a 2001 fabia estate 1.9tdi with a few electrical faults.

When i first got the car the alarm would randomly sound at dozy oclock in the morning, unlock and lock again and car would be fine for awhile.

Now the fault has grown bigger, woke up one morning to the hazard lights continuously flashing with no alarm sound, been doing it all night.

Car wouldnt lock or unlock with fob, had to unlock via drivers door lock.

Now as soon as you lock the car the hazard lights continue to flash, also noticed that the boot keeps popping open sporadically.

Also when you unlock the car and start driving it the hazard lights randomly start flashing for a minute or so and then knock off so not very safe at the moment.

Its got to the stage where its sat on my drive with the battery disconnected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

no one have any idea?

Alarm faults can be notoriously difficult to debug.

First thing I would look at is the door switches not working i.e. courtesy light does not work correctly.

Typically the drivers door would be the 1st to go.

Search for this in FABIA and OCTAVIA forums

Thanks for the reply, forgot to mention that the drivers door switch has already been replaced but made no difference, checked all courtesy lights and they work when door is opened.
