Citigo Keys

Featured Replies

As is the trend with Car Manufactures of their 'cheaper' offerings (by the way, ours cost over £12,000, which I don't regard as cheap), you only get 1 remote Key Fob + a bog std normal Key.

As the car is my Wife's, she grabbed the remote key leaving me with the bog std Key.

My question is this:

When locking the car with the bog std key, do I get Full Functionality?

i.e. Do I get the Engine Immobiliser function & alarm function (if fitted)?

Or, does the std Key just lock the doors?

One more question, has anybody found the cheapest source for spare Fully Functioning (chipped & programed) Citigo Key Fob?

If so, what would I be expected to pay?

thank you.

Normal key will work as the remote does except the remote part

Immobiliser is via crypto chip inside key

Not sure on replacement flip keys I blagged the sales man when we bought ours for a 2nd remote key

The annoys the hell out of me, my previous £95 Fiat Punto came with 2 remote keys, why does the Citigo not?!? My brothers Fabia also has 2 remotes. It's not the end of the world for me because for the rare occasions my partner uses my car I just lend out the remote key if possible. A minor inconvenience but it's one you notice.

When you pay £12,000 for a Citigo you expect 2 remote Key Fobs!

Its just down right MEAN of Skoda to only supply one.

How much EXTRA is it going to cost them over the 2nd STD Key they supply, which afterall has to contain a Transponder for the Imobiliser?

An extra £10? Or maybe £20?

Multiply that by 1 million + across all three divisions up citigo and mii  and that's the reason

So, if that's the Philosophy that Car Manufactures adopt, why suppy a 2nd Rmote with ANY car they sell?

But, they do, don't they!

More profit in them though, a more expensive car is likely to be used by 2 drivers regularly apparently, also as more cars adopt keyless technology, there's less of a choice, you have to be given 2 fobs. As an aside my old A4 convertible (sold again now, I won't buy it back a third time!!) had 4 keys. 2 remotes, 1 fixed and 1 plastic blade. How times change!

Where's that 'fact' come from?

just the opposite in my case!

I have an Audi TT & my Wife has the Citigo which we both regularly drive.

I drive the Citigo because it's handy for nipping down the shops & so easy to park.

So, our experience is the complete opposite!
