Roof bars

Featured Replies

Hi , can anyone recommend a mid range set of roof bars for my 2007 estate ? I know Thule are the best but there must be something close ?

Thanks in advance

I've got Whispbars which are an aero bar.  Pretty quiet and I've used them with Thule bike carriers, and to cart the odd ladder around.

The Roofbox Company sell them:

Just a thought I may well be selling mine as getting an new Octy soon and they don't fit.

Have a read of the thread below, it's for a Superb but the same applies.

Cheers guys !

Just used the roof box company linked earlier, having used them before. Got some Cruz aero bars with locks. About £120, so a good 50-70 cheaper than the Thule ones.

I've used Roof Box Company ( www.roofbox.co.uk ) and they have always been very helpful and competitive prices, if you need aftersales too they don't fob you off for spares etc.. I have used the Whispabars before on a Ford Focus and I liked the thin profile.

I currently use a set of Thule wing bars mounted on the Skoda factory fitted roof rails on my 2011 vRS estate. They are quite enough (you have to use the rubber in the T Track to make them quiet).  When you put bike carriers on the carriers themselves are pretty noisy (mine are atera but I had the thule pro rides and they were similar in terms of noise as well) and I tend to no be able to put up with that permanently  so just remove / re-install the carriers as needed.
