Proud owner of a '06 Black Magic MK1 Fabia TDI that's slowly morphing into a 3 cylinder VRS

Welcome, Xylynx,

Enjoy your Fabia, and this excellent Forum.

I had a Mk1 Fabia 1.4tdiPD as my first Skoda, got it re-mapped from 75 to 99bhp, awesome MPG, but VERY vibratory at low revs; brilliantly smooth above 2,000rpm!

Stick with paper-element air-cleaner, doesn't deposit oil on your Mass AirFlow meter's wires. And same size airbox does 1.4 AND 1.9 engines, so pointless going any bigger IMHO.

I use Millers oils plus their fuel additive. Now on a Roomster (4-cyl version of same PD engine), does mostly between 62 and 65 MPG, tank-full to tank-full. Also had this re-mapped, this time by Darkside Developments of Barnsley, who are very knowledgeable on the VW-group diesels.  Fabia done by RS Tuning, Leeds.  The Fabia averaged 76.5mpg in summer.

HTH.

Richard
