Ghost in the Machine?

Featured Replies

2010 Octavia parked up from last Wednesday, locked and alarmed, but front windows fully down, parked below a carport at the backstep, literally a 1.0m from the backdoor step.

In and out past the car umpteen times a day.

Out feeding cats and dogs am today, about 06:00 & nowt amiss.

Sat down for breakfast about 10:00 ish and heard music?

I "looked" out (i.e. actually listened) and went out with the keys in my hand.

Radio is playing, but car doors still locked.

Car started first kick, which was a relief,  I then looked at the "radio", because the music would not have been of my choosing.

But the "radio"  is actually a CD,

We absolutly never use the CD, &  I did not even know there was a CD in the slot.

So How did the CD get turned on?

A Ghost or a Gremlin?

A little early for Halloween stories

.....but hey, since the supermarkets were sending school kids back before they even broke off for summer, I say get your act in now!

By the way I haven't a scooby doo about your radio either!

Heard of windows opening, radios coming on etc... Usually, the stereo will turn off after an hour of the key being removed if the stereo is turned back on. (Battery protection). I think sometimes, the system goes askew and reverses the process. Poor coding or can-bus technology I guess! As for the cd, perhaps it was installed by a previous owner, if you never inserted one EVER!  I doubt someone would slot one in for fun, unless it was someone you knew having a giraffe at your expense?

Possibly (since it was a "buckshee" copy CD) popped in by a mechanic at some stage.

No odds, and another uneventful 220 mile trip today, well uneventful if you accept not getting fed at 3 establishments in a row.

(i) Advised, on good local advice, to avoid the first as a holiday in Donegal, funfair set-up, mad busy etc. etc.

(ii) The 2nd highly recommended place was simply too mad-busy to even consider.

(iii) Our 3rd choice, after a 100 mile(50 there and 50 back) detour, was SHUT, due to an outbreak of, ( & I suspect kitchen/food based)  "influenza".

Scheesh!

better luck next time, hopefully?
