Sorry. Fabia vrs suspension

Featured Replies

We have a mk1 lowered on apex springs .

It's terrible.. soooooo bouncy.

We use back roads but can't have anyfun as its bounces too much causing scraping.

So what's my best option as I put new Sachs shocks on..

I was just looking at getting the h and r shocks and springs kit..

I have kw coil overs on my fiesta but the h and r kit I'd cheaper not fussed about height adjustment as long as its lowered a bit and much stiffer than it is currently

Cheers

Eibach springs work well enough with standard dampers, it sounds like your shocks have had it or the Apex are too low.

Another vote for Eibach here. I've run Apex springs in the past on a Mk1 Octavia and they were horrid bouncy choppy things. I've got Eibach on my fabia vrs and although the lowering isn't extreme, the ride quality and stability is excellent

@pistoltpete - I'd say the problem is your springs, not the dampers. The function of dampers is to control the rebound to rest, rather than the initial bump movement.

If you want to lower it then go for a matched springs and shocks kit, if you don't want it lowered then revert back to standard springs and shocks.

Eibachs plus shortened dampers or have a look at Bonesetter's topic.

I've just put eibach Sportlines into mine. Sits 25mm lower. Also put new Sachs shocks and new top mounts in aswell. Handles excellent now

What is the ride/comfort like compared to standard?

I keep putting off messing with the suspension on mine as I don't want a hard uncomfortable ride.

Thanks

Ride is better than standard no where near as bouncy as standard. Deffo not a uncomfortable ride. I'd highly reccomend them

Currently running AP Coilovers lowered 50mm ish, and can honestly say at 50mm there is hardly any difference in ride comfort from standard.

Did have them down without the adjusters in the rear, with the fronts to match, and honestly the drive was horrible. Bouncy and far too firm.
