66 PLATE Octavia VRS paint flaking

Featured Replies

Can anyone help or give any suggestions to a solution. Over the last week or so I've noticed a couple of flakes of paint come off my rear bumper. There's now 4 as of today. There is no other damage or scratches on the bumper so clearly it's not hit or been hit by anything. It's a 66 plate with only 6000 miles so I don't understand it? I've added a picture for you to see. Im open to suggestions.

Best post in the Octavia Section.

But raise the flaking at a Main Dealership they can have the paint tested to see if there was damage and a repair between the factory and dealership or at the dealership before delivery,  some Kerb Side Auto Main Dealership  respray botch job.

The supplying Dealership should know anyway. (they sheldom admit it but the expert testing will know, and Skoda use Experts to do the report if the Dealership will not.),

Paint thickness will need checked, then they know if the factory paint on or work after the factory.

As it is it is a warranty issue as long as damage is not occurring because someone is scraping something against your car when parked,

a bike, shopping trolley or the likes.

I was thinking a Smart repair at the dealers to be honest George.

Yes 'SMART'  but not 'Simply Clever' when the usual happens, the rubbish job flakes.

Unless it's a " Not So Smart repair "  Simple un-clever

Yes.

So a Warranty Job, and deal with a Warranty Manager and you do not get panned off with someone with a NVQ in computer studies and not

Automotive Paint & Bodywork Technologies.   Paint needs testing and repair to Factory Spec, or better....

On my car the paint get so easy chips and marks. I have never had a vw or a Skoda before, but several audis. And the paint on a Audi seems more durable and resistant to scratches.  When I machine-polish the car (rupes lhr15es) the clearcoat is easier to correct and make swirlfree than on the harder Audi-paint. My 230 is Black.

Talked to the dealer about the paint. It is as it should be was the reply.
