2x email accounts on Android Phone

Featured Replies

Need some help - dumped the Windows Phone and moved to an Android one.

Is there a way to have 2x shortcut icons for 2x separate email accounts?

I don't want to have to keep switching the accounts in one email app. I would prefer to press "Email A" for one email account and another for "Email B".

Is this possible? Windows Phone did it easily.

Another solution would be have all the emails available in one app - take a look at K9 on the app store

OR

Forward one lot of emails automatically to the other email account

You can run two accounts easily enough in the Android Outlook app. You don't have to swap between the accounts as it just merges the inboxes etc.

Failing that I was running MyMail and Outlook at the same time on my Galaxy S7 with no problems.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Don't want to merge inboxes or forward mail from one to another.

One is business and one is personal.

I have set them both up, can see emails and it works fine. But I want to have them split for obvious reasons.

Android doesn't seem to be able to do it? Perhaps I need to run 2x mail clients?

I have it set up using the android E-mail app (which came on the phone) for my work email, then Gmail app for gmail account and Outlook app for a Hotmail account. Advantage of using the e-mail app which came on the phone for work account is you can set peak time and off peak times so during office hours my phone will sync the work account and then notify me, during off peak times it won't so I am not disturbed by work emails out of office hours.

K9 wont merge your inbox - each email account is kept separate. SOme customisation for each account and some general customisation.

Had a play around and have done this. Native email app is for work, and I've used the GMail app for personal. Thanks.

Prior to the above I downloaded K9 - very quickly deleted it, truly awful app IMO.

One option is an app called parallel space.

It'll clone any app and run a 2nd version.

So you could use Outlook as your main account, then clone it in parallel space and have another shortcut which will authorise be called Outlook+.

Works with just about any app, and is great for running WhatsApp on a dual sim phone
