Green Mould Around Foglights

Featured Replies

Does anyone else suffer from this problem?  I have green mould around the edges of each foglight.  It seems to be inside the lights themselves which are sealed units.  Have reported it to the dealer who will have a look at my next service.  If a DIY fix, will appreciate knowing how.  Thanks.

Sounds a bit like you are suffering from living in a high rainfall area that lacks proper pollution!  Same here in Southern Scotland, so far it is only my daughter's late 2009 Ibiza that is suffering as our cars get garaged! I keep meaning to apply some anti fungal stuff (but what/which ?) to stop this coming back - though on her car it is all on external surfaces!

I bet that you don't get much of that in the inner cities.

I get a bit of green on the windowsills, street parked in South Manchester!

The green mould is on the inside of the fog lights, around the edges.  Will see what the dealer says in a few weeks time.

Have the car booked in for its second service at the end of September and dealer will look at it then.  They asked for a couple of photos yesterday which I sent to them.

Had the car serviced on Friday 29 September 2017.  Dealer replaced both front foglights under warranty.  No argument.

Great result, you must be well pleased.
