Just recently purchased my monte carlo, I notice on start up the car goes into higher revs which I assume is an auto choke function ? (forgive my complete lack of terminology)

 

Then other times I start it goes into really low revs, both times from which I started from cold

 

Is this normal or do I have an issue?

 

Any info would be appreciated
