I took my car to be serviced yesterday but the non Skoda garage was unable to reset the computer at the end of the day. He can access the whole range of VCDS but not reset this particular flag.

 

Has anyone else encountered this problem? He spoke to a mate in a VW garage and the only time they had come across this the recommendation was to disconnect the battery for 24hrs and then try again.

 

Its a 58 plate 140bhp TDi with 116k miles on the car.

I can reset mine on the mfd screen. Can you not?

Well I didn't know that. I have just tried that and it seems to have cleared it.

Thanks for that. I just assumed that you  couldn't reset it without access to VCDS.

I think the MFD method resets it to fixed servicing but VCDS is needed for variable.
