13 plate skoda superb 1.6d estate locking wheel nut key

Featured Replies

Hello

I've done the unthinkable and lost my locking wheel nut key. And yes you guessed, I wasn't aware to record the code on it.

I was wondering if anyone here knew the code for the locking  pattern on the attached image?

I'm hoping to try a dealer at the weekend but knowing the code would make my life easier speaking to them I'll wager.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Gareth

I've looked on my locking nut key and there isnt a code on it - suspect Skoda dealer should have a record of it

Some employee at the dealership will need to bring out the set of locking nut security tools and see which one fits your car, then you will know the code.

Best call your dealership of choice and see when someone with the gear and an idea is available, parts desk or workshop

and not just some Sales Executive.

Thanks for prompt reply chaps.

Seems the car manual says take a note of the code stamped on your locking key incase you loose it.

Ahem.

Says letter will be stamped on top or side of key. Or on the bottom of a locking wheel nut.

Now if only I'd read that when I got the car...

Off to dealer tomorrow. Will see what they say/charge me.

Thanks again.

IME there's no identifying code on the key either. You'll need to get hold of a master set at a dealership and match it from that.

Ah just spotted a single letter on mine - just presumed that couldn't be the code. Obviously not more that 26 combinations then.  My wifes Punto alloy wheel nut key has  an eight digit number.

Gareth, that looks a lot like "P" or item code 773

Don't order it based on my supposition though.

there is a P for sale here

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SKODA-LOCKING-WHEEL-BOLT-NUT-KEY-P-773-5J0698139773-/331752716515?fits=Car+Make%3ASkoda&epid=1243615521&hash=item4d3e00b8e3:g:tkEAAOSw-K9ZHvno

The keys are stamped with a single letter and that relates to a three digit code which forms the end of the VAG code

in this case (p) 5J0 698 139 773

have a look through the whole internet and you should find a picture of one that matches yours exactly.
