Fabia II 1.4 16V engine stops when braking

Featured Replies

Hello,

My mom owns a Skoda Fabia II (Combi if relevant) 1.4 16V from 2008 (she's the original owner) that has developed a pretty weird issue this summer: when it's very hot outside (over 30-32 degrees Celsuis usually), the engine often stops when braking. She's taken the car to the service several times, and every time there's nothing in the car's computer and they have no idea what's wrong.

Any further ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Check the servo vacuum pipes for splits, particularly at the engine end. They often split at the end and when the engine leans forward under deceleration it can separate and allow air into the manifold.
