Load rating for 16" winter tyres on Superb II combi 2.0tdi?

Featured Replies

I'm after a definitive answer on load ratings for winter tyres for my facelift superb II estate.    I'm looking at picking up a set of 16" wheels and fitting 205/55-16 winters.

Some people are saying that 91 is OK but others 94.    I'm happy with a lower speed rating (H) , but the superb estate is a hefty beast and it will be travelling fully laden so my inclination is to go with the 94 unless someone has some official statement that 91 is OK?

thanks

From the axle load point of view you only need LI 91. On pages 93 and 97 of the attached file Skoda allow the Greenline 205/55-16 LI 91. All other cars are required to run LI 94. The weight difference between Greenline and all other models is not massive and is still within the LI 91 bracket.

We had a V70 II in the past, which was heavier than the Superb II and that was licensed for LI 91.

Thanks for that doc.   This is the first car I've ever had that doesn't have this info in the owners manual or on a sticker somewhere.
