Light bulb warning light.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I got a light bulb warning on the dash.  Finally found it was one of the two small rear side lights, OS.  Put new bulbs in both then noticed more so how dim the other side was so put new ones in them as well. ( I think all these bulbs have never  - or for a long time - been changed.  As I was replacing the plastic housing with the large bulbs on I noticed one missing.. And one  - the brake light - on the driver's side had stopped working. I replaced both. I had no idea where the NS brake light bulb had gone....?  I had to use pliers to get the other one out as it was a bit corroded and stuck..

I got all the lights working - bulbs bought from Halfords - and the tail lights are now much brighter though I still have a dash  warning light on..!?   All the lights are working.. Could it be because I've put new bulbs in ?  ( Different type ?)

Also while testing the lights I found what had happened to the other missing bulb.  HAHA.. It's in the unit - photo.

Will I be able to get this out by unscrewing the two small nuts inside the boot either side of the light unit?

Thanks.

OK, I found the answer to getting the light unit off, and why the bulbs blew. Thanks.
