pd headgasket help

Featured Replies

hi all

I am new to this forum and looking for a bit of help

i have a 2009 octavia 1.9 tdi pd ( think engine code is bxe)

it`s using a bit of water , a header tank full in a week,i checked for leaks found none but did find water pump hole at bottom of pump to have a small

sign of weep so replaced it along with timing belt, that seemed to make it worse so poured some real steel head gasket seal which made it slightly better.

so my question is can i do a head gasket without having to alter any injector clearance ie can i just take head off and refit with new head bolts and head gasket,

as i have done with many cars over the years.

the car has 250k miles i i just need it to last another few months then will be scrapping it

any thoughts and advise please

Sorry ,maybe I am being thick but why do you want to change the head gasket ?. 1)  You cannot be sure that it is the head gasket. 2) You say that you are scrapping it in a few months so why not just keep topping it up until then.....:wondering:
