I know this topic has come up before but I did search and couldn't find the answer to my questions.

 

I have a dash cam mirror with rear camera that is attached to the back of my caravan. I am about to take delivery of a new Octavia and thought I might take the opertunity to add a 2nd rear camera on the car to use when not towing and backing up to hitch the caravan.

 

Has anyone fitted one of these numberplate cameras

I know there are better options but the adjustable angle of the camera would be good for hitching.

 

My other question is to fit this I would need to remove the tailgate trim. (Hatch version) Are there any good instructions any where for removing this trim

 

question as to where you would locate the wire? it will stick out?

I was thinking I could take it up through the edge of the number plate light. Just cut a slot in it. I am not one for drilling a new car but the lense could be easily replaced if I make a mess of it or remove it later.

 

But any suggestions welcome.
