I'm after a favour, if someone could help I'd be very very grateful.

 

My CR170 alternator is only putting out 13.59v to the battery at idle RPM, I'm having some battery related issues, power steering and error code relating to battery intermittent voltage.

 

Had the battery tested twice, both places say the battery is healthy but both commented that the charging voltage is a little low, they also both mentioned that some cars alternators put out less than others though and 13.59v should be sufficient to keep the battery in check.

 

So I'm no further forward, what would be REALLY useful would be if someone else with a CR170 could measure (with a multimeter) what voltage their alternator is putting out at idle? 

 

Could someone help?

Perhaps if you can too, before starting the car, take a reading from the battery?     Mine's dropping to 12.2v overnight and again not sure if that's at all normal?

A charged battery should hold around 12.6 12.7 volts 12.2 is low 13.5 volts is also low too it should be  high 13s to  around 14.7 

at idle

 

Range: 14.00v - 14.06v
