I have a 2013 Octavia and have yet to master the Amundsen unit even though I'm no technophobe, the compass has appeared on the dash display which is annoying.

 

i just want to get the digital speedo back, what is the quick fix?

Do you have steering wheel controls? What usually happens is your hand moves the dial on  the right hand side of the steering wheel,  there should be a button with two squares on there,  press that then use the scroll wheel to find driving data,  press the scroll wheel in, then scroll through until you find the speed one,  hope that helps!
