Webasto

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 2012 Octavia Scout 2.0 tdi dsg. I'm so far satisfied with the car, but there's one thing that bothers me. The webasto!

I really like the comfort that comes with it installed, but I would like to deactivate the automatic drift so that it's only activated by the button or the remote control. Is it anyone here who knows if it's possible?

Webasto is a manufacturer's name, famous for their car sun roofs but now make a range of products including pre start car heaters and van refrigeration units.

Which product do you mean? And what is automatic drift?

Excuse me for my bad english, I mean the fuel driven preheater...

What I meant was that the heater starts up automaticly as soon as the engine is colder than 60 degrees celsius and the that it's colder than 5 degrees celsius on the outside.

I don't want it to start automaticly, it shall only start when I want it to start manually.

I would have thought that you could put a switch in the appropriate 12 V supply from the fuse box.  When the switch is off then the unit is inoperative and when the switch is closed it would be the same as it is now.

There may be several 12 V feeds to the unit so try to get more details; perhaps Webasto have a Swedish language website and can help with your question.

I know that it's only one 12v feed to the burner, but the question is how many fault codes that will be set in the ecu:s memory? As it's probably fully integrated to the car's system...
