Diamondbrite et al

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Just ordered a Juwel Diamondbrite polish kit off ebay - anyone got any tips for successful application? Is it idiot proof?

Planning to take a day "working from home" and do this next week if the weather's better.

Also, I'm sure I saw a post by some guy with a black furby who put Meugiurs (sp?) polish over the top and it looked like a mirror - is this stuff that good and where do you get it from?

if its anthiny like the kit i have then its very straight forward... apply 1st bottle, apply 2nd bottle etc etc...

Stage 1 is wiped onto bodywork and left until it's dried (looks like water when you wipe it on, it dries to a haze) - in warmer weather it takes about 1/2 hour

Stage 2 is applied on top of stage 1 (DO NOT WIPE STAGE 1 OFF BEFORE YOU APPLY STAGE 2), this is like a waterery polish.

The 2 stages have to bond together, this can take another 1/2 hour (it'll take a while in this damp weather), you'll know when it's ready to buff off as it'll be dry like a normal polish.

Buff off with a clean cloth ( microfibre ones work best so you don't get smears).

The finish on dark cars is better than most waxes/ polishes (gives a deep wet look to black).

The coating is supposed to last a couple of years at least but you can wax/ polish as many times as you like without worrying about damaging the protection.

If you get the conservor in the pack (some have it some don't), this is added to a bucket of water 2-3 times a year to top up the protection.

If you get the full kit with the fabric protector (same as Scotchguard), this sprays onto the seats and stops water/ etc from marking the fabric, it make the liquids bead like wax does on the bodywork.

I've used this for many years, still have a set in the garage but haven't got around to doing this car yet, maybe in the summer :)

The Meguilars polish to go for is their NXT range which doesn't smear or leave any residue, much better than the Cold Glass they do.

cheers rob.

i polished it a month ago so guessing i need to take this off with something before applying the diamondbrite, or does stage 1 do that for me?

W00t!

Stage 1 does the prep job (gets rid of contaminents, etc) so the only thing that needs doing beforehand is the claybar rub on any overspray, etc although stage 1 gets most of this off :)
