Windscreen washer T tube?

Featured Replies

Ok, more of a general question really on what you would call a part?

Long story short I took off the scuttle below the wipers and you know the little T shape part your need to disconnect the washer tubes from? Well I forgot

Ive snapped it into 3 wee parts,

I know I could go to a breakers and find the part somewhere im sure but to save me the trip i was going to order it online...

Does anyone know what you would actually call this part?

T Pipe? T Shape tube? 3-Way tube splitter?

Also if you know what size it is so I could buy a generic part as I imagine any *name of part* that is the right size from any car or purpose would do the job fine? Please correct me if i'm wrong here.

After typing this up I google searched 3-way tube splitter as it was a new one I hadnt guessed yet and yep, that seams to be it, No doubt this will come of use to someone else like me :D

Question about the size still stands, I dont even know how I would measure a circle? is it Diameter, Radius?

CHeers man, they seam to be around £10, Ive ordered up some 3mm (complete guess) tube splitters, fingers crossed I can cut the old one and squeeze it round,

Its a peice of tube, Im sure there will be some imaginative way to keep the old one, but if these dont work Im not gonna waste more money guessing incase i end up spending more on a bodge...

I'll post back if it works for other that make this mistake

Just to let everyone know... Popped by hAlford's as I still had a few quid on a gift card.

they sell that T piece 1.5mm x 3mm

and tubing 4.7mm I think.

pop off the bit from the main feed (the bit that's supposed to come off!)

wrap the tube around this part. The 2x 1.5mm parts will slide right into the snapped t peice (no need to force it out) and pop the 3mm part onto the bit of tube you have.

really quick and simple...just make sure before you bolt the scuttle down that there is absolutely no leaks and the tube is not bent at all....not bending the tube is the hardest part.as long as it's not bent. The washers are just as good as new.

Just under a fiver for the bits...no doubt you'll find them cheaper pretty much anywhere else
