58 Superb Elegance

Quick Question,

When I come to the car in the morning, 9/10 there is surface water on the window. When I put all four windows down and back up, the water is not removed by the seals like in all of my previous cars. Is this part of the design or do I need new seals on all windows. If so, is this possible and has anyone had any experience doing so?

Regards,

Keiran

I was disappointed with the wipe of the seals too. on the drivers door you can exert a little pressure outwards but even then it doesn't wipe the whole window.

Thank you for your swift reply. I've seen on a few posts on other forums of executive style cars being built like this.

Do I take it that this is not an issue with it being 9 years old and that it was always like that? I've found that it generally goes away after 5mins of driving but will be a pain in winter.

Same on both my superb IIs

I was thinking of cutting out sometyhing to go in the slight gap

but then the window wont freeze onto the seal either so you can still open the windows.

Good point tbh

Most of the cars I've had in recent years (even new ones) don't appear to have the same degree of contact between the seal and the glass as cars I had many moons ago.  Perhaps design is different these days due to most being electric windows.

Perhaps when they made my 58 plate skoda they did have that in mind. Some of the kit included in my elegance model still isn't included as standard in most new vehicles. I was surprised when I saw the value you get for your money with a superb.

I've truly been won over :)
