Fabia estate 1.9 TDI brake pad warning light

Featured Replies

Hello,

i had a service in July and pads were replaced however today the ‘check brake pad’ light came up it stayed on until I arrived home (about 5 mins).  I got back in the car about an hour later and it’s not showing anything and I’ve driven it twice since and nothing.  I would normally just phone my garage and take it in but it’s closed for the weekend and I have to travel this weekend, probably a journey of 90miles in total and don’t want to be stung by going to kwikfit etc.  Any help?  Thanks.

I don't have sensors on my car but I just take the wheel off and have a look at the pads thickness. if the pads are less than 5mm then they will need replacing.

But the fact that your sensor light came on and then went means it could just be one of those things.

But for peace of mind I would check the pads thickness.

Unless you have a sticking brake caliper, I don't think the pads will be worn in such a short span of time...
