I have just fitted a towbar and used my new VCDS to program the features,The trailer board all works ok ,reverse sensors bypassed when trailer on all good.But I have an error on module 69 trailer error reads P1577 00 [009] open circuit.

On the programming side on electrics 1 69 trailer long code helper Byte 1 

I did not have the option trailer connector diagnosis active.

On byte 3 I did have 00 terminal 30 output  [pin 9] not active.Any ideas what I am doing wrong,any help much appreciated.

Just to add on Electrics 1   69 trailer byte 3 I have selected both terminal  30 output pin active and non active and it makes no difference?

the options on byte 1 are

00 partial network operation active and the other option non active .bit 4>7

On the write up I have byte 1 bit 0>7   

01 trailer connector diagnosis active ? Is the choice.

So this may or mat not be the problem?2016 VRS 230 

Any experts out there please.

Did some research myself,and contacted Westfalia UK and they seem to know about this issue when installing a 7pin setup with one of there dedicated wiring kits.If you install a 13 pin all will be good.So there you have it installed the dedicated kit and have built in design fault?
