Cruise control with stop&go.

Featured Replies

Hi there.

I just got a new job where I will be commuting around 2 x 100 km a day - exclusively on highway with potential heavy traffic/queues. I also just became a dad so now is the time to upgrade our otherwise beloved Fabia (2006) to a bigger model.

I'm mostly looking at an Octavia, or maybe Opel Insignia.

However, what I would like to know is. I have never tested it, but I think it sounds really nice with adaptive cruise control which includes full stop&go support for the situations where the traffic goes to a standstill. As far as I can see this feature is available in Octavias from 2013 and forward, but I cannot find out if it's in *all* models which have adaptive cruise control, or if it's something you buy in addition to adaptive cruise control?

Also, given my high yearly mileage (~35.000-40.000 km), if there is anything else you think i should think about, please tell me :)

thanks in advance.

All ACC equipped models with automatic gearbox will have it.

But keep in mind unlike VW Golfs, Octavia won't stop and go if the stop is longer than 2s. It will say "press brake" and then disengage after 2 seconds. I press the brake and then when traffic moves, release brake and pull the stalk again to re-engage ACC. With this, you can't ignore the brake peddle in stop-go traffic, but you can ignore the accelerator peddle.

(Edit: Changed Skoda to Octavia)

I think the Superb gets full traffic jam assist as it has an electronic parking brake.
