I have just got back from a trip to Prague. Has anyone else been lately and noticed that Skodas form far less of the proportion of vehicles on the road than say two years ago?

I hope domestic opinion is not going the same way as Fiat's in Italy. Any opinions?

So I am right in what I have noticed.

VW build the Polo in Bratislava. I guess it is access to cheap labour rather than access to the Slovak market. With PSA though I guess they want to build up their presence. Skoda have a plant in Sarajevo, but I am not sure what is built there.

Yup, and they also have a plant in Ukraine where they produce Fabia dn Octavia (only a few thousand a year, but figures are rising) and a plant in Russia is planned in cooperation with IzhmashAvto in Izhevsk (Federal Republic of Udmurtia).
