For the last few months I've been hearing a weird noise coming from a particular corner of the living room at approximately 2300.

 

At first I put it down to the wood burning stove cooling down, but then I heard the same noise one night whilst in the Games Room. It would appear to be coming from the VM handsets. Is  this them syncing with the Tivo box?

Don't have the VM handsets but the TiVo box normally updates late at night. Could just be that your house is haunted "GET OUT!"

Well it is built on an old Indian burial site. 

Our box makes funny noises late on, definately updating. The handset/remote not heard any noise from that.

When you said handset, I thought you meant phone not remote control. I can confirm ours is silent and definitely no spooky sounds 

Both handsets to different Tivo boxes make the same noise.  It only lasts for approximately 1second and sounds like someone is squeezing the handset and letting go. 

 

Never does it during the day, always around 2300 (not noticed a difference since the clocks have changed) and only happens once a day.  

It’s not 1st April.  I will not be lifting the remote control up to my ear at 11pm 

It's just done it there, just now! 

 

Cannot see anything on the VM website about it, so will email them tomorrow to see if they know anything. 

CONTACTING VM? Will they know anything about " old Indian burial site " - I'd say that depends on the continent.
