fan over running.

Featured Replies

Evening all.  I'm new to the skoda family and modern cars, so i hope someone can answer my question. Sorry if its been asked already.

I have a 2015 octavia scout and twice now the fan had stayed on after turning the engine off but only when ive made a short journey on a frosty morning. 0 to 3 c. Is this normal.

Diesel engine?

Ah yes. Its the 2.0 diesel.

If it is a diesel engine and the idle speed is 1000 at the time you switch off the fan is running, because the regen is running. Short journeys is a problem with modern diesels.

Cheers Moley. Thats good to know. Yes. The idle speed is at 1000 when it does this.

Cheers Wino. All makes sense now. Newest car ive ever had.  Gone from an old diesel landrover to a luxurious modern car.
