Hi guys looking like my 07 Octavia vrs tdi is needing its head gasket doing, has anyone done one on this engine before any pointers ? 

 

How do do I tell witch hole version of gasket to get or am I going to need to remove the head 1st and measure the piston height 

You should go to your skoda dealer parts counter with your VIN and engine code and they will tell you what gasket to use

Did you manage do change the HG?

Any issues? Any tips?

I've got to do mine.... 1.9tdi 

Asking a dealer shouldn't help e.g. head was skimmed previously by an independent garage so any work won't be on the Skoda database.
