I'm thinking of getting a L&K Estate (with standard 18" Pegasus alloys.) I believe the suspension/ride height is the same as SE, Technology and SEL spec etc (it's only Sportline that's 15mm lower?) Could anybody possibly put my mind at rest as to what the ground clearance is (ie how high the underside of the chassis base sits off the ground at the central B-pillar)? We've got a downward sloping drive coming from a slightly uphill approach and getting over the 'crest' from the road can be tricky, depending on the height/length of the car! I've had an SLK with no problem as the wheelbase isn't very long! We had a C220 AMG Line that was low and used to scrape the underside on the apex! Swapped that for a E220d SE that sits higher on 17" alloys and 'normal' suspension. It gets on OK and seems to have a slightly longer wheelbase than the Superb. I could just do with guesstimating how low the L&K sits (it looks low on those 18" wheels) as to how easily it'd go on alongside the E-Class! I need it to have about 17cm clearance! Does anyone have a tape measure and not mind getting their knees dirty?!

The standard car has a ride height of 149/148mm (the latter for 4x4 transmission) but I've read on here before that having DCC on the car reduces this further by 10mm, which the L&K has.  Sports suspension is a further 5mm lower.

 

Worst case for a L&K will be 139/138mm if DCC does indeed reduce it by 10mm.

I would assume that ground clearance is the lowest point on the vehicle when sitting on a level surface (wheel size for the Superb isn't relevant - wheel + tyre = same diameter).  The "dimension" you need but I don't think you will find is in Land Rover terms the ramp breakover angle - "4" in picture below

I presume you are too far from a dealer for a test drive so the best suggestion I've got  is to give your location and ask for a volunteer to try their car with you getting your knees dirty checking the clearance.  (I'm often in the Lancaster area)

If it helps, my driveway off the street into the garage under my house is fairly steep - about 11% - and my L&K has no problems with that on 18s.

 

I too have had a C220 (a 2012 Sport, just before they introduced the FauxMG trim levels ) and subjectively the Superb looks to ride a bit higher.

When I test drove the MK1 VRS octy many years ago I went via my house to see if it would go on the drive as I had a similar issue to the OP. When it scrapped underneath you could see the salesman face dropping. Little did he know that my mind was not thinking about not buying the car but more on how I could modify the drive to make it not scrape.

So car was ordered and drive dug out so hump was removed. 

So get a test drive and try it on your drive.

'Wooyay' is correct. I found an early 2017 brochure online which states "Clearance (at kerb weight) 149mm*" The asterisk being a note regarding the 15mm less clearance on the Sportline! That seems to have been removed from the current brochure!

Having rolled around on the drive last night, my Fabia MkII Monte Carlo Tech estate has 170mm clearance and the E220d SE has around 140mm clearance and a longer wheelbase than the Superb! So even if DCC knocks another 10mm off the L&K it should sill be fine!
