Next time, a headlamp fails- take the plastic back off and check to see if the connector comes easily. I had this recently and it came down to a melted connector. I'd suspect bad connection leading heat to melt the connector and plastic to flow into the connector. I found my local parts place had connectors in stock but as the wiring is tight ( especially on the passenger side), it's a battery out job. I crimped mine with heatshrink on the crimps for weather protection. But it was tight.
