strange front washer problem

just wondering if anybody else has encountered this problem, my front washers take a good 5 seconds or a few clicks to get water through, back jet was blocked, when i unblocked the rear jet i now see that the few seconds its taking for water to come from the front washers its actually shooting out of the back! as soon as it starts coming out of the front it stops coming out of the back. also makes a strange clicking nose while it happens.

not seen anybody else suffer the same problem, was going to try changing the washer motor and that sorts it but thought id check for other ideas 1st.
